Gavin Hellyer Council House Boy was one of my favourite tracks from 2017, but I'd never got around to buying it's album. That oversight is now fixed, and we have a dozen punchy and melodic tracks and some pretty spot on social commentaries. Favorite track: Council House Boy.

Orange Bomb released their third album in three years in 2017. Pop Heavy.

The punk attitude remains with short sharp pointed lyrical and musical smacks. Council House Boy sticking two fingers right up anyone who suggests life is a closed predetermined road. In a similar pulsating vein The Best Place I’ve Ever Been tells the story of David who wants to be loved but struggles to connect with the “normal” world. There’s a heavier pop feel to School Disco where a tale of an imaginary girlfriend catches someone out and in Dear Julie a final letter to a failing marriage. A theme which is echoed in a non existent Birthday celebration in Another Year.

Again the album is full of punk spirit with a modernist design full of characters , melancholic reflections, dark humour, great hooks, big bass, rolling drums and attitude.

The album has been widely played, compared to some greats and highly acclaimed ... buy it!
